POSTGRADUATE STUDIES


Masters and doctorates in social science are a lot, and they are related with many different topics. As i am studding anthropology i am interested on the cultural areas, like history. That’s why I want to do a Master in Latin American Studies. This master includes axis like study of culture, history, thought and literature, from the perspective of the humanistic disciplines.
Despite I always want to travel to Europe, because there is a lot of knowledge about social science and things like that, I am so interested on Latin American history and how that explains a lot of things nowadays, (and to do that I have to study here, I mean Latin America) and also because I really like to identify the differences and similarities between the different countries because the story of their people.
This master is here in Chile, specifically in Universidad de Chile, but if I had the chance to travel to another Latin American country to do a similar master, where I will learn the history in a other place, to give it a different approach, I think I will do it. If I can dream about this, I would go to Argentina, because I really like this country and I would be so glad to have the chance to live there and visit a lot of cities and places there.

Okey, honestly I think this blog I had to wrote this week is really boring, I don't really know what I want to change to my study program because I am in the first semester of the career, I don’t even pass one signature. I think someone who can give an opinion, is someone in a highest level, not a student of first year on her first semester. Leaving this aside, there are a few things that I would change, but maybe there are the best things on the career or they are not what I thought. First I think there are a couple of teachers that must have to change. status of education in chile

Today the education in Chile is a controversial topic because we have a lot of problems with it. Problems that involve high school and university, related with the quality and with the money.  First of all, Chile have a huge problem on University education because it is privatized, everyone who wants to study have to pay, even in the "states" universities you have to pay. For this there is a recent legislation named "gratuidad universal" that implicates giving free education to some percentage of the students (the ones who have less resources), but this benefits only a little part of the population. The other big problem with this project is because is uncertain if they are (the new government) going to keep moving to obtain a universal free on education or not. My future job This is a really difficult question to me because i do not have an ideal job to do for the rest of my life, quite the opposite, one of the reasons I am studying anthropology is because there are a lot of possibilities to work in many different areas, and that allows me to work on different stuff for the rest of my life instead of only one. If you forced me to choose a future job I will choose the typical anthropology job (or the ideal picture, I think, of an anthropologist): work with different communities, know them, study them, live with them and try to involve myself with their customs. Today I think no one would pay me for doing that, because it is like an obsolete job, but I can dream here because is my blog.
